Artist's statement

I look at the mirror. In the mirror, I see awkward double eyelids, some freckles, and a tired and wornout look. I stick out my tongue. Now, it's different. A different person is in the mirror. The person looking at me in the mirror is so familiar and so strange at the same time. I feel that I live as hundreds of thousand different persons in a day. Sometimes good, sometimes evil, sometimes innocent, and sometimes wicked. The longer I look at the mirror, the more persons appear and disappear from deep inside of me.
My self portrait drawing started from this confusion and fear about myself, self-hatred, and narcism.
Going back and forth between kindness and cruelty and goodness and badness, I stick an evil smile to the back of another person like a knife. My face shows that contradiction virtually and symbolically.
My face seems to be the epitome of multiple personality.
