Artist statement

The year of 2011 is the Year of the Hare, which means being clever and swift. My work describes rabbits which pound under a cinnamon tree, medicinal herb which guarantees perpetual youth and longevity, looking at the moon at night. We dream of living like the rabbit in the old days for thousands of years, without worrying about anything in the peaceful and enriching world. The rabbit is the symbol of longevity and the spirit of the moon.My rabbits were drown with the mixed water with copper and yellow soil, and some iron fillings. The fillings is oxidized making shape of the rabbit, copper becomes the color of bronze phthalocyanine, and the iron gets rusty in the permanent period of time. When I feel the coldness of 6℃, the rabbits show up in the air. The dream of good luck and perpetual youth and longevity is getting solid.
